Hi guys i was up until now going to order a i5 pc but i have since been researching i7 a bit more and figure that is the way to go as it is more future proof.
I have put together a pc below and just wanted to gather your thoughts on it:
Intel i7 920 DO
Antec 300
PowerColour 5850
Foxconn FlamingBlade GTI-I can get this off a mate of mine for £60 brand new,Is this a good deal?
G-Skill 6gb 1333
Total Is:591.13
I will be re using
Thermaltake TR2 550W
Samsung DVD Drive
Seagate 250gb HDD

i have just put together a am3 build and i am just enquiring as to what the difference in performance would be:
Am3 Build.
Phenom II 955
Powercolour 5850
Asus M4A785TD-M Evo
Antec 300
Patriot G Series 4gb
Total is 546.87
As you can see there is a £44.26 between an i7 and Phenom 955 build, Is it worth paying the extra for the i7?

Talking to yourself much? :)

In the i7 setup the board is a good price given it being new or even used. Out of the 2 the i7 will perform better at stock than the AM3 build, in my opinion it'd be worth it, however you'd likely need a different PSU, unless I'm reading the connections wrong it doesn't have 2x 4-pin +12v or 1x 8-pin +12v. (http://www.plinkusa.net/products/Cable-AD4-8Pin.jpg (the 8 pin on the right hand side is the type I'm talking about))

Personally I would go for the i7 build even with the extra cost & would grab the Corsair TX650W although if you don't want to spend so much there are cheaper PSUs that are still of sufficient quality to get ahold of.
