Extending Wireless N with G

Heya guys, I got the Netgear DGN2000 Wireless N router and I want to extend the Range of it,

I was looking to Use another Netgear Wireless G router and I was just wondering if I would extend the Range of a Wireless N with a Wireless G router, I know I wont get N speeds but I was just wondering if it was compatible.

you will need a N router to extend N otherwise who thing will drop to G
