I was looking through my c drive and came across a ATI folder so looked in there. I was surprised to find folders of old driver installs ranging from 8-8 to 9-3 in a folder called support within it.
I uninstall properly and run driver sweeper so why are they there?? any ideas??

Yep, temporary files. Can sometimes come in handy if you're without a net connection and deleted the main file, or need a particular file for some reason. The nvidia drivers do the same I think.

They're not important files, they're just the files that the installer extracts in to the C: drive, delete them, it won't cause any issues.

Driver sweeper only deletes files that the system is using as drivers.
