Spec my mate a HD please!

His current system is:

XP Pro
AMD 4200
Asus M2N 32 SLI delux
8800GTS 640
500 watt Anteq basiq
2 Gb OCZ plat 6400

Although I stated with his current system its a bit overkill, and is it true that all that extra cache can hinder the performance on a 32bit operating system? Or is he better going with the F3 for future proofing reasons? He has already stated that he wants an upgrade soon.

Can't comment on the cache issue but I'll be going for one of the Seagate drives at that price. I don't think you can't really go wrong with either but I guess the main difference is that the Samsung has double the storage. Does he need the extra space?

Not really I guess. Yeah he is probably better of with the Seagate. Of all the wise men on here no-one knows of the cache factor???
