Hi,
Just hoping for suggestions for suggestion an upgrade as my computer can stutter when playing DVD's and opening multiple programs and one of the SATA ports does not work so have a hard drive unplugged at the moment.
Current set up is:
DFI Lanparty (can't remember exact model at the minute)
AMD Opteron 185
2GB Geil RAM
Everything else in my computer does not need replaced so only looking for those 3 things. Budget of around £250-300 (less would be good or more if needed could be stretched).
Only limitation is I have a Noctua NH-U12F cooler which i'd rather keep and this supports LGA775 chipset and AM2. Does this rule out AM2+? I've been out the tech loop for so long I've no idea what is good anymore and always stuck with AMD in the past.
I used to play PC games but not really anymore as have XBOX but I do have an 8800GTX card so should be good enough to play most things at a resoanble level should I venture back into PC gaming.
