g220 as physx card

I have a gtx295 rev 2, running with an i7 860 at 3.8ghz and 8gb. I am using an 8800gt as a dedicated physx card. But the 8800gt is running quite hot and I am think of replacing it, with the new nvidia g220.

Has any one tried this combo, eg gtx295 plus g220 for physx?

Or should I try a new cooler on the 8800gt eg "Xigmatek Bifrost VD1065 VGA-Cooler - Blackline Edition" which looks very cool indeed?

Or is this just overkill, eg using a dedicated physx card with an gtx295?

Overkill imo, a 295 should be able to handle the PhsyX as well, and the GT220 is a lot slower than the 8800 GT, so be no good as a PhysX card.

The 8800gt has a single slot cooler, right? Is there any possibility of downclocking it a bit? You'll see virtually no performance drop and the card'll run cooler. As was said above the 220 is slower than an 8800gt and will obviously cost you hard earned monies

220 wouldn't make a good physics card imo... the 240 thats coming soon might.

As loadsa says, a 295 should be more than enough when it comes to Physx.
