Unable to add node to existing SQL Cluster

Guys, been tearing my hair out over this one.

Basically we had Node1 and Node2 which make the virtual machine Node3. Once they were in a cluster we installed SQL Server 05 Cluster.

This was running fine and then Node2 had issues. I couldn't solve the issues without a rebuild so now I am trying to add it to the existing cluster.

Both physical boxes do not have GP applied and are in the staging OUs that we have used numerous times in the past for other cluster builds without a hitch.

This is the first time we have had one of the two nodes go down and try to rebuild it.

The intention is to add Node2 to the cluster and then add it to the existing SQL Cluster.

The poblem is that when I add a node to the existing cluster it fails. I have googled the error codes and checked up on everything I cannot find an answer.

First one is: 0x00138f: The cluster resource could not be found
Then while it is adding Node2 to the cluster: 0x8007042b

The cluster is 100% running, no GP is applied to either Node, the Clu account is fine and is in the local admins groups of both boxes.

I am lost here. Help appriciated.

Has anyone else had this issue? Any pointers please?
