Hi Guys
What do you think of this build
Antec Skeleton
Phenom II 810
Gigabyte MA-790XT-UD4P
G-Skill 1600 Blue 4gb
Thermaltake TR2-550
Samsung DVD Drive
Seagate 250gb SATA
And a 5850 at Christmas.
Just a few questions also,
How much better will a i5 be than a phenom for gaming?
Is the skeleton a good case, I will be buying off mate of mine.

For gaming there isn't much between the phenom and the i5. Performance is mostly dictated by the graphics card at high res.

I'm not sure about this but I think the skeleton has problems with large cpu coolers though best to get someone else to comment on this.

Ok i think i will go for it.. I have been looking around for a cpu and found a place in the USA selling Phenom II 955 for £105 brand new would that be fine to work over here?

You do realise that by the time you've paid the import duty, it would be barely any cheaper. Also what happens if it's DOA? Then you've gotta ship it back. Silly idea imo

You have to pay VAT as well as import duty, trust me it's really not worth it. In fact it would probably end up costing you more than you can get it over here.

Quoted from the HM revenue and customs website

If you buy goods online from a country outside the European Union, for instance the USA, Canada, China, Australia
You will be charged:

Customs duty if the amount of duty is €10 (£7) or over
Import VAT if the value of the goods is €22 (£18) and over
Excise duty for some goods like alcohol and tobacco
