Hi i currentley have 2 machines one for me one for the wife but am thinking of doing some swapping around. I have the evga 790i DDR3 Motherboard with QX6840 extreme @4Ghz, 8Ghz of OCZ Ram all watercooled with bitspower blocks and Dtek Fusion etc and 3 loops with Laing pumps, 3 Thermochill 360 Rads, 2 OCZ 64Gb SSd's, 1Tb Samsung F1 Drive, 3 BFG 260 Gpu's o/c and w/c and a coolermaster 1000w power supply. I am gaming on TH2Go at 5040x1050 on 3 samsung T260Hd's. My wifes is an Asus P5NE Deluxe with the E8400 Cpu at 4.050Ghz, 8Ghz of OCZ Ram, 2 loops with lang pumps and quad and triple rad, x2 1Tb Samsungs, Swiftech Cpu Block, Koolance Mosfet and Nb and Sb water blocks, Enermax 1250Watt PSU and 2 BFG 280s o/c and w/c. I want to use my system as a spare when messing around and matbe swapping bits etc , and would like advice on upgrading to the following:-

Asus Rampage II Extreme Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard [90-MIB6L0-G0EAY00Z]

Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66Ghz (Nehalem) (Socket LGA1366) - Retail + Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising Game [BX80601920]

Corsair Dominator GT 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-16000C8 2000MHz Triple Channel Kit (CMG6GX3M3A2000C8) [CMG6GX3M3A2000C8]

I will be using the 2 280s for now until the 5870x2 are released and see which is better between them and nvidias new Gt300. Also i will be using other parts from my pc to run the above and use other existing spares to have my current pc running. Is this above spec pretty future proof at the moment and will a 5870x2 run the resolution ok once they solve the crossfire bugs if i go ATI route? Thanks guys.

hi,

currently have the same setup- bar the memory. I am running xms3 @1600mhz and its very good.

Not sure of how the dominator suits the board.

It all just depends on what you are planning to do to it, assuming you are going to clock it within an inch of its life, then it all depends on how good the memory controller is on your chip to see the benefit of the dominator memory.
