Hi All,

Has been a while since I posted here and since I haven't been keeping up to date with the latest hardware I was wondering if someone would be so kind as to spec me a PC!

I am looking to spend around £4-500 (say £550 as an ABSOLUTE max). It's for a friend of mine. Said PC would be used for uni work, which includes, video editing, encoding, some audio work, image manipulation and some 3D work. Also it would be used for general PC use, movies, very light gaming (championhip manager only really!). So I guess a decent size HDD would be a must, doesn't need to include Monitor or anything, just the tower so that it's ready to go!

Thanks for anyone that can help :)

Kiz.

Hi I know this a little over, but If you wasnt 100% with that you could swap either the cpu or graphics to a cheaper version. The reason I listed this is because its current tech and would keep you going just that tad bit longer. I mean if this is too much a cheaper graphics card or something would knock the price down a bit.

Looks pretty good, do you need an optical drive in there too though?
For gaming the machine would benefit from a faster phenom over an athlon, up to you though

Only reason I put a different case, (I mean totally your decision) is purely trying to find white bezels for the cd drives etc. I mean if they come with them that would be fine :D just something I cant stand is a dvd drives that dont match the colour lol. oo yeah and the graphics I miss read the light gaming part so yeah get a cheaper card like the other guy said but keep the processor

Thanks for your input guys. I've forwarded it on to my mate and I'm hoping that what I've sent him is ok. I was missing the optical drive but added it and got it to around 500.

As for the CPU I'm thinking of longevity for him! But as mentioned thanks for your input, if anyone has anything further to add please do :)
