Hi all,

I ordered a Harmony 785 but have just realised it doesn't say anywhere in the description that it comes with an ir receiver! Is this the case? Do I need to buy on separately. It's going to be used for a HTPC which doesn't have any ir receivers in the case.

Will any ir receiver work? Can I just buy a cheap remote and use that? I can't seem to find ir receivers by them selves (except ir data transmitters but I assume they are different)

You'll get the remote, a charging cradle with plug, USB cable and instructions. If you can find an MCE receiver, that's probably your best bet, though you may have to buy the MCE remote with it as it's usually sold as a package.

It doesn't come with a reciever, as they're primarily designed to replace existing remotes. I've used mine to replace a standard MCE remote, which was simple to do, but you do need to have a receiver.

Any cheap one microsoft standard one should do.
