Asus P5KC mobo - what RAM?

Guys, I'm upgrading small bits of my pc and want to go from 2gb of Geil ULL DDR2 RAM to 4gb of RAM. The P5KC can use DDR3 RAM (as far as I know), and wanted your opinions on the best cost-effective solution. I don't really game, I just use Photoshop a lot.

Also, stupid and unrelated question: I want to go to Windows 7 64bit, and I have an Intel Core2Duo E6750 2.66ghz processor. Is this able to run 64bit, or do I need to upgrade that as well?

Cheers guys

If cost is a factor, go with what is cheaper, DDR2 vs DDR3. You'll not see any meaningful performance difference between the 2 on this board.

If you want to "future proof" a bit, you could get a DDR3 kit that it made for the new Lynnfield platforms and use it. Then, you'd have a good kit already if you upgrade the MOBO/CPU later.

I'll probably go ddr2 then. I can't buy another 2gb of my RAM anymore, I suppose I'll have to upgrade the whole lot to get to 4gb, rather than put a stick of different RAM in there as well as my old stuff, if you get what I mean

To be fair, the price of DDR2 and DDR3 seem pretty similar to me. It's confusing, what's the difference between these:

They're all DDR3 and all similar prices, but in different sections. Alternatively I could get DDR2, but for the same price, for example:

I'm pretty confused as to what I should be looking at.
