Absolutely, having to mess about with your Config.sys and Autoexec.bat, loading drivers into high memory, so you could free up enough base memory to play whatever game had just been released.

I'm welling up again.

Ditto, having different boot discs for different EMS/XMS configs so certain games/programs would run. Getting your soundblaster to work and the million of jumper settings for your motherboard and ISA cards! :D

Oh and later when computer technology caught up, getting the bloody cd rom drivers to work... mscdex and all that stuff!

IRQ conflicts were a nightmare too!

24 here, thought the 22-29 would be a big category and win tbh though imagine (and read with people with mortgages, marriages etc) that we have a fair few older members here as well

Good to get the viewpoints of everyone

should have done <16

16-18 schoolie
18-21 uni
22-25 time of your life
25-30 marriage?
30-35 kids?
35-40 ferrari new wife
40-45 lose 2nd wife, hair, gain beer belly
45+ just die already.

30-39 come on can't group 30 year olds with 39 year olds totally different age groups.
