L4D2 Mic Problem

I wonder if any of you can help me...

I am trying to use my M$ vx-1000 webcam as a microphone in L4D2. When I use the key I have mapped to talk no speech bubble appears in game and my friends cannot hear me.

The game and steam is definitely set to PTT and the test microphone gives appropriate feedback.

Now these are the situations where the mic does work:

- In windows voice recorder
- In steam chat voice calls
- In L4D2 game lobby, albeit shocking sound quality

Any ideas?

Have you mapped it in the game options. I think it's C by default.
