Predictions for 2010

Now then. Firstly, a very merry Christmas to all, but mainly how about getting some predictions towards the antics in 2010, whether they be political, technological, business or science related, lets go. Here are a few of mine:

1. Tories voted in in the summer.

2. The Apple Tablet sells like hot cakes, ebooks fade - and a newspaper or two needs rescuing. It revolutionises newspapers and we see a popular paper fade/need to be rescued.

3. LHC makes underwhelming discoveries, though I'd wish not.

4. People take note of a changing London, with The Shard, The Pinnacle and other towers rising, Olympics ahead of schedule, people hopeful. Government increase taxation on living in the capital for most.

5. Netherlands win the World Cup. Chelsea win League, Man City boss fired for coming 4th.

6. Twitter grows and floats, buys many other tech start-ups, people still reluctant while it takes its hold on the news even more so. Facebook is threatened by an offering by Google.

7. A much hyped hydrogen car will be released in the UK.

8. A royal falls ill.

9. Tesco becomes an estate agent.

Mostly pretty conservative predictions, anybody care to suggest a few otherwise?

You reckon? Long term bonds have increased (iirc), speculating that low interest rates may be here to stay for a while. I'd definitely suggest that the economy won't be recovering properly though. Hopefully weening out that inefficient businesses in the process, but keeping the necessary and well-run.

Green taxes will be discovered to be based on wrong information, it will be revealed that man has had barely any effect on the climate. Then we'll really start to worry as nature up's the ante.

Tories will win general election, snp will grow in scotland as a consequence. Tommy Sheridan will be welcomed back as an outspoken underdog hero.

'Green' advances in technology, a new type of far more efficient solar cell will be discovered and at a cheap price.

More celebrities will die at young ages due to their lifestyles and as a consequence, the public's reliance on them will fall and this will see the slow end of reality television shows.

Kim jong will die and north korea will open up to the world, as iran makes some rash decisions.
