How to check my card performance

I have Asus(?) HD 5770.

The gaming performance is a little "odd" for my liking, maybe im expecting too much. Just want to be sure all is ok.

So what free tool is best to test the card performance and can a you put up what the average should be for this card in that test. Just so i can compare it.

It's run on AMD955 & 4gb ram.

Yes Windows 7, is the free version of 3DMark Vantage good enough?

I think you can only run the free version once with a trial key.

You're going to have to explain what it is you mean exactly.

Bench mark your favourite games and post that up too including the res and the settings you're playing it with.

Also post up the specs of the rest of your PC.

I just want to run the average tests people run cards on. As i say the gaming performance looks very average.

Ive tried Arma 2, Tropico 3, Anno 1404, Call of Juarez & Opertaion flashpoint, and noNe look ok or good on eye for me.

Things look too shiny and too rough around the edges. As i say might just be expecting too much.

i think this should put your mind at ease. I think 4890's are faster then 5770 as well, but i ran the test at same res as yours.

where did you get version 1.7 btw?

what did you run the test at?

Its located in top right-ish. Says Preset: [Drop down]

i would say your gear is up to scratch. Nothing wrong with it.

Least all is "ok", very disappointing card though. Last card i had was GTS 250, i think i'd rather have that, and i had that card over 2 years ago!

It will do till i upgrade to hd 5850.

This my first experience with AMD/ATI products, and im not greatly impressed(see my other posts regarding cooler).

Those are the only options on 3d mark Vantage:
unless you have an updated version i do not.

Custom, Entry, Performance, High, Extreme.


the card is not bad for a 120 odd quid to be honest. Your GT 250 2 years ago would have cost considerably more. i presume something like 250 odd?
