A tabbed text editor?

I have always liked how Excel is tabbed, starting with 3 on a blank document but can be increased. Is there something suchlike available for a text editor? It doesn't have to be XML/HTML/Word-formatted. Rich text format would be nice (to allow formatting), but plain text is fine too.

I like Notepad++ when I'm working on developing things, not to sure if it can do Rich text formatting though

Notpad ++ is great. I also use UtraEdit at work, which is the bee's knees, and not too expensive. I've not found a function it doesn't cover, it even has a superbly useful column mode, which is perfect for my job where I have to edit huge .ini and data extracts.

Great editor, replacing notepad with it is one of the first things I do on a new build.
