eeeek need some deleted files!

OK i have a laptop i just wiped and reinstalled VISTA on for a friend, i backed up all the doc's but she apparently had another folder i missed which she very much needs. Can anyone recommend a program that may be able to help me, i don't really want to lose what i have either, as i just installed and but everything in place

you could try spinrite

But IF you have installed over the partition where the data was
chance of actually recovering the data is very low ( you may have put
other files where the original data was)

This is one of the reasons i ALWAYS put my documents on another partition that is NOT the O.S.

yeah i get ya, well it was her data and she told me that it was all backed up, however i do wanna try and help as she is a good mate, as for me, i have scripts running nightly and have 3 back up drives - im safe as houses but some people don't get it.

Not sure but there is Recuvva from Piriform? (Same people who do CCleaner/Defraggler/Speccy) Although, I'm not 100% sure on what it does/how it works.
