Depends if he wants a 3D compatible TV. Personally i have no interest at all in 3D, seems like a massive gimmick to me and should stay were it belongs in the cinema.
I'd buy one now, you can wait forever for new tech to come out, only for something newer to come out the next day.
If I was looking for a new TV I would wait
Why ?
1. DVB-T2 , new freeview HD format , would want the tv to have this
2. DVB-S2 , satalite HD format , would like tv to have this also.
I wont be getting a new one until these are on the tv
That's what I'd do. It will be a while until you can get DVB-T2 built-in and there will definitely be a price premium.Surely you can just get a box for it?
Surely you can just get a box for it?
Yeah , Like my living room needs another external box like I need a hole in the head
Future players will be compatible with 2D discs, anything else would be insanity.I read that the new 3D blu-ray standard is going to just be an extension, ie if you put a 3D disc in a 2D player, you will get a normal 2D image, put the same disc in a 3D player and you get the full 3D affect?
