lo all

im looking for an addition to my 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 non-is kit lens. the problem is that i dont have much to spend. under €200 tops.

the tamron 55-200 came to mind 'cos i spotted one in pc world of all places for €160, and i have a mate who can get me 10% off the marked price.

considering the prices in ireland, this seems like a good deal, and it would mean i have coverage from 18-200mm.

does anyone have any experience with this lens?

i have a canon d1000 and im hoping to do some wildlife and maybe start looking at macro with it (apparently it has a macro mode or somesuch)

in terms of image quality it's normally classed as remarkable for the price - but even after the price rises at the end of last year these are usually ~£100 (€115) in the UK for most mounts & available for even less in Nikon mount.

200mm isn't much for wildlife though.
