Hi,

I am looking to build a new computer.

I already have the monitor (19" widescreen Samsung), windows 7 64 bit OS, keyboard, mouse and speakers. Just need a fairly powerful base unit that can handle Photoshop and Dreamweaver running together, plus watching the odd film and listening to music.

Here is my proposed spec -

Coolermaster Elite 330 Black Mid Tower Case - No PSU - http://www.******.com/product/127584 - £25.37

Gigabyte GA-H55M-S2H Intel H55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 microATX Motherboard £74.99 inc VAT
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-234-GI

Intel Core i3 530 2.93GHz (Clarkdale) (Socket LGA1156) £98.00 inc VAT
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-311-IN

Corsair 4GB (2X2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Dual Channel Kit £84.99 inc VAT
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-224-CS

Seasonic S12II 330W PSU £43.91 inc. vat
http://www.******.com/product/132062

Western Digital WD7501AALS 750GB Hard Drive SATAII 7200rpm 32MB Cache - OEM Caviar Black - http://www.******.com/product/146079 - £63.00

Sony AD-5240S 24x DVD±RW DL Internal SATA Black Bare Drive - OEM - http://www.******.com/product/170014 - £15.20

Obviously, I'd prefer to get all the components for Overclockers!

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

My budget can't stretch much over £400.

Regards,
Tom

id personally go for a tri/quad core setup for those. considering that tri core is roughly -15% performance to a quad. hope this helps. i knwo this is over your budget slightly but see if you can dig up some more wonka (from envirofone advert =/)

Cheers, I've never had an AMD before, what are they like? Also, I was told Samsung had reliability issues?

Thanks for the response.

I have decided to go with this build. Would anyone be able to just confirm that these components are compatable with one another before I place my order?

Casecom Black Mid Tower Case - Front Blue LED 120mm Fan - With Side Window - http://www.******.com/product/115479 - £18.88

Gigabyte GA-H55M-UD2H Intel H55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 microATX Motherboard [GA-H55M-UD2H] - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-233-GI - £84.99

Intel Core i3 530 2.93GHz (Clarkdale) (Socket LGA1156) - Retail [BX80616I3530] - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-311-IN - £98.00

Corsair 4GB (2X2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMV4GX3M2A1333C9) [CMV4GX3M2A1333C9] - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-224-CS - £84.99

Seasonic S12II 330W PSU - Silent Efficient 12cm Fan - http://www.******.com/product/132062 - £43.91

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (ST3500418AS) [ST3500418AS] - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-206-SE&tool=3 - £39.99

Sony AD-5240S 24x DVD±RW DL Internal SATA Black Bare Drive - OEM - http://www.******.com/product/170014 - £15.20

Can I just confirm that all components will work with one another and are credible brands?

Also, the DVD and Internal Hard drive are OEM, can I expect the cables I need to come with the motherboard?

Can I just double check I don't need sound or graphics cards as they are integrated into the motherboard?

Will the cooling or the PSU be an issue at any point?

I know some parts are not from Overclockers, but the processor, motherboard and RAM will be purchased from here.

Regards,
Tom

1st - the sound & graphics are built into the board but dont plan on doing any gaming or hi-fi listening. Sata cables are usually included.

I'd swap the Seasonic for this - Cheaper & 70w more.

Are you sure you want that case? It isnt going to be much cop for that kind of money unless your budget is really tight. another 14 quid buys you this. The cooling should be better than the casecom.

That way you'll get it all from here.

I only ever listen to music and design using Photoshop, I won't be gaming or anything like that.

Would this integrated set up of sound and graphics be ok for that?

Are both PSU's (the one I spec'd and the one you spec'd) compatable with my build?

Thanks for the quick response.

I have integrated graphics at the moment and it seems OK. It's just speed I have an issue with.

I could upgrade later? How hard would this be to do?

I am going to purchase the rig through OC.

Can I just confirm the motherboard will come with all the cables need as my hard drive and DVD drive is OEM?

Just ordered the system. Got the lot from Overclockers. Just want to 100% confirm everything is ok and I have everything I need to build?
