win7 won't recognise memory card data

Hello all i am having the problem where if i enter a usb drive, sd memory card or any type of removable disc, windows 7 can see the data. But when i try to access the data open the file, copy it to the compter or drag a file onto any memory card win 7 says that it cannot find the location of the file.

I have updated all my drivers, checked in device manager enable, disabled. I have reformatted two of my memory cards but still no available.

All my other usb drives and two sd cards work fine on my other computer with windows xp.

Change the drive letter of the "port", see if that does anything.

Is there some kind of internal card reader with your machine?

Many of them play havoc with W7

Hello, no there isn't i am just plugging my card reader directly into my usb ports. But it does the same thing with usb drives.

Have you ensured that your memory card reader is compatible with Windows 7? Also, Microsoft does have an official Windows 7 Support Forum. It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. You may want to also check the threads available there for additional assistance and feedback.
