Hi, I recently tried a clean install of Win XP pro on my machine but have encountered a problem.
The install went fine until the 2nd reboot screen, I entered the timezone, admin names etc but on the second boot it links back to the post screen with an error about "ATAPI no emulation" or something. I tried restarting but then it gave me errors about certain system files not being installed and to insert the installation CD and press "R" for recovery. I tried that but it asks to insert a disk into drive "A".
I don't have a set of Windows recovery floppies or the blank floppies to make them.
Is there a way around this ? Am I doing something wrong or could it be a HDD, CD drive or Bios problem ?
If anyone could narrow it down I would be most grateful.
