Webcam - all connect thru msn messenger ?

not up on webcams but what software or central point do they connect thru
to the other person ?

is using msn just one of the easy options but there are others ?

do they all cope with sound ?

For video conferencing sort of thing? Skype is probably the most common followed by MSN. Not really something I look into much myself, only used those two before.
