I have been playing FSX with a Gainward 9800GT card and get a frame rate of about 10-12 at an airport and about 15-20 in the air. I have just installed a XFX Geforce GTX285 in the hope this would improve things but the frame rate is the same.
My settings in FSX are all in the middle range and I have tried different settings for the card in the nvida control panel. My computer is a 64bit Vista with 12gigs of ram and i7 2.6 quad, which I thought would be more than ample to run FSX smoothly.
Any thoughts about improving the frame rate would be gratefully received.

PS I have a lot of add-ons for FSX (it totals about 80 gigs) could this be slowing things up and would I benifit by swapping to an SSD drive?
