Hi all think it time to upgrade my monitor at the moment im using a Dell 1905fp and would like to upgrade to a widescreen monitor the only problem I have is the more I read the more I get confused so any help would be greatly appreciated. The new monitor is going to be used for games and movies ( no consoles) I have a budget of around £400 and size minimum of 24" maximum of 27" and not sure which is better a 1900x1080 or 1900x1200 so if any one could help me out that would be great.

LED backlit is the in thing at the minute, and everyone on here is raving about e-ips panels (although i see no improved quality to normal).

for £400 you've set a high budget. What graphics card have you got? Have you thought of a dual set-up?

I would recommend the following:
LG - 24" LED Monitor

For £400 of your enlgish pounds you could have 2 of these bad boys.

Or you could follow everyone else on here (like a sheep) and get this:

Dell UltraSharp

Personally buy the LG, and spend the extra £200 on a better graphics card if needed.

After some more reading I have come down to 2 monitors the first being the Iiyama ProLite E2710HDSD 27" as it will do everything i need and the 2nd is the LG W2600H-PF 25.5. as it is 1920x1200

I have read the posts on the forum about the Iiyama but was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the LG as I have had problems trying to locate any reviews

Thanks

Yes I certainly agree a dual screen setup would certainly be worth considering, even if your secondary monitor is only a 17inch.- this is always handy for watching youtube videos on one and then browsing the net still on the other.

Belinea make fantastic screens and so do LG

A few i would recomend

Not allowed to link competitors by the way!

I would spend ~ £200 on each monitor, and have a dual screen set-up personally.

Edit: I would buy one monitor, and a 5850 - easily done for £400.
