Castrol Edge 0W-30 - £9 in Tesco

Just a heads up as I know a lot of people use this oil in their BMWs. It's now about 2 quid a litre cheaper than Morrisons. Got 3 litres myself yesterday.

Good price for 1L, cheers.

Although I usually buy 8L (2x4L) at a time which gives enough for an oil change + occasional top ups.

For those of you with Costco memberships you can normally get Castrol and Mobil much cheaper than any of the retail shops.

4L of Mobil 1 0W-40 for example in Halfords is £46. £22.99 Inc. VAT in Costco.

Is this what I use in my 330ci?

Can't remember if its 0w-30 or 0w-40? Will pop past to get some if its the right one while I'm out.

I heard both are fine, also 5w30 or 5w40 would be fine too.

If its Castrol, its 0w30, if its Mobil1 SuperSyn, its 0w40. These are the (Well, among other brands) LL01 approved oils for your car and these are what you should use when doing oil changes etc.

You can use the others for topups and stuff, though.

Depends if you have an M54 or an N52.

I have Mobil 1 0w40 fully synth in mine, would it be ok to use this 0W30 Edge for topups?

Both are fully synthetic, so yes you can use it for top ups no problem.
