I just ordered a "Palit GeForce GTS 250 Green 1024MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Card" for my secondary PC and just realised the mainboard is AGP only, doh!

I now need a cheap motherboard and CPU (core 2 E6500)? to go with the card. I've got 2 gigs of ram in the current "Abit IS7E", it's probably ancient so I also need 4Gb of ram.

Can someone spec me CPU/mobo/4gb ram for around £200 to go with that card.

Thanks.

You can get something like this if you want to add another GTS 250 in the near future. This board will also work with PhII so if you want to upgrade the CPU to a more powerful one it won't hold you back.Unfortunately it only supports DDR2.The difference between DDR2 and DDR3 isn't that big if you don't do benchmarks.

Corsair XMS2 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C5 TwinX Dual Channel £76.99 inc VAT
Corsair XMS2 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C5 TwinX Dual Channel £76.99 inc VAT
Intel Pentium Dual-Core E6500 "LGA775 Core 2" 2.93GHz (1066FSB) - Retail £62.99 inc VAT
Gigabyte GA-P43-ES3G Intel P43 (Socket 775) DDR2 Motherboard [GA-P43-ES3G] £60.99 inc VAT

Total : £277.96

So with windows 7 64bit, I'll have a 8Gb ram system? I've been out the PC build loop for a while, I just need to be 100% sure this build will work.

My priority is memory as my apps use a ton of it.

Why 8GB of RAM?What apps are you using? Also AM3 is a better option than sk775.The Ahtlon II X2 250 is a lot faster than the E6500 and overclocks better as well.
