I'm going to Bangkok for a couple of nights in June prior to heading south to a beach resort.

Pretty stomped as to what to do. Been looking at the reviews and the guides recommend Temple of the Emerald Buddha, but looking on the map location this seems to be in outer Mongolia with zero transport links i.e. not on the overhead train 'BTS'

We are staying at South Nana that is 10 mins from the BTS.

So what is there to do around this area/doable via the BTS in the 2 days we are there?

No 'exotic' suggestions I'm going with my g/f! ;)

I'm interested in culture and hear the river markets are a place to see, but again appear to be in the middle of nowhere?

I would like to be able to go to a market at see all sorts of exotic foods on offer the kinda stuff you see on TV, suggestions?

Gracias :)
