There was a area wide power cut in maidstone last night that i imagine had something to do with Virgin because when the power came back on my internet and digital TV were down until this morning.

Anyway, since it came back on my router is playing up. Its a Linksys WRT54G (quite a few years old) with my virgin modem plugged into it. I then connect it to desktop, the wireless is for my laptop. I basically i have no internet access (i get the wee sign in my sys tray) and im forced now to plug my modem into my desktop leaving me without wireless for the laptop.

I've tried rebooting everything (modem, PC, router) about a dozen times and even done a hard reset of the router to no avail. I can still access the router's admin page and all the lights are on and cables firmly attached so im stumped as to what it could be.

Could the power cut have screwed it up and if so which router would you recommend i replace it with?

Cheers
