Pretty much as the title says.. ive got 2x 500gb drives in RAID 0 as my system drive. only taking up about 20gb of space. Decided i need the extra sata port free up and havent noticed a lot of difference using RAID 0 as only using PC for day to day tasks. Also 1TB is far too much for system drive & the drives are nearly 3 years old, so dont want to run any risks.

So my question is this.. is it possible to clone whats on the RAID drives over to the new 500gb drive ive just bought, so i can boot up from it straight away? Or will I have to go from scratch. Not that bothered either way, just would be nice to save an hour or two of getting things how i like them again.

Thanks for any help.

Yeah, should be possible. The likes of Acronis will deal with variations in volume size and if you've got less than 500Gb of data on the array it should be fine.

Just make sure you leave the SATA controller in RAID mode because that's what your OS install is set up to expect.
