Guys,

I have been reading about software TRIM and Windows 7 but from what i can make out, apparently Windows XP does not support software TRIM.

My question is, if I use an SSD with windows XP using say an Intel drive wit hthe latest firmware, would there be any compatibility issues or say a lack of performance in comparison to windows 7?

Thanks.

Intels SSD toolbox and wiper.exe both work in XP.
but it's a manual TRIM operation.

If running a ssd under windows XP -

Set up a bootable usb pen drive.
Add HDDErase to it and formate the SSD to get it to the correct alinement.

Mirror OS onto SSD

Run SSD tweak utility

schedule wiper/toolbox to run monthly

That what I did as a stop gap before getting win7
