ASUS are starting to get a lot of recognition thanks to their passion for gamers. They have taken so much of a gamer’s heart in mind when they’ve designed their latest range of ROG products. CeBIT is a case in point – the sheer weight of ideas and products showcased at this event have been impressive to say the least.
Whether you’re a pro, a mobile gamer, an overclocker or an all-rounder, there is something in this smorgasbord of technical delights to suit you. One of the products that really captured my imagination was the 120Hz PG276 monitor. This is currently the world’s largest gaming monitor (wooooo) with a whack of features to add to the gaming experience.
The monitor is 27 inches with a LCD high definition 3D display that uses alternate-frame sequencing in conjunction with active shutter glasses so the screen refresh sits at a magic 120 fps. It supports Nvidia’s 3D Vision technology and has 1920x1080 resolution. I could just kiss it!
The contrast ratio is 20 000:1 with a 2ms response time and has lots of lovely connectivity ports to keep you happy. These include dual-link DVI, HDMI and VGA. It looks to offer an extremely smooth gaming experience that even includes viewing angles of 170/160 degrees. Seriously, with these elements you’re not only looking at a monitor that helps to reduce the sample-and-hold effect of LCD monitors, but also looks delicious on your desk.
There is no confirmed date as to when this beauty is going to hit the shelves, nor do we have a specific price point yet, but the whispers are suggesting that this may well be a June release. Just in time for some summer fun gaming. Yeah!
