Hi currently have a Samsung spinpoint F3 1tb drive and am thinking of getting another one and raiding them up. Heard you can use the drives to make them work as 1 and double the speed. Can someone enlighten me on what raid this is and how I go about setting this up on a GIGABYTE P35 DS4. Wanting to order the drive from overclockers later today
thanks guys

Two drives in RAID 0 configuration will almost double the bandwidth, although the latency stays much the same.

RAID 0 is great for things like video editing etc, where there are large files involved. Using it for a boot drive wont provide significant improvements.

What do you intend using it for?

It wont double the speed for hard drives, infact you wont notice much difference at all. Trust me i've RAIDed many HDD's, and stopped doing it with them because it's just not worth it.

RAID0 works far far better with SSD's, as you really do end up with about twice the performance for nearly everything.
