Best way to go from Nvidia to ATI drivers?

I've currently got a GTX275 in my PC, but my sparkyly 5870 Vapor-X has arrived today :) It's the first time I've used an ATI card in I don't know how many years!

So what's the best way to migrate? Just uninstall the Nvidia drivers, shut down, remove 275 card, install 5870 card, power up, install ATI drivers?

I always do a fresh install even though as some say its not needed. I just like to make sure everything is 100%, plus a fresh install is never a bad thing it just takes longer. :)

went from gtx260 to 5870, didn't do anything to nVidia drivers.

got the card, signed for it, unpack it, shutdown machine, swap cards turn on machine, install latest ATI drivers and started playing.

all worked fine, yet to see any problems/slowdowns.
