Ive Gone To The Dark Side

Well, after 2 years with an 8800gtx and what seems a lifetime with Nvidia, I've placed an order for a new graphics card..................an XFX ATI Radeon HD 5870.

Ive been watching the threads/posts on here lately regarding what card to buy and all of you, well most of you, recommend the 5870. If its the wrong choice then I blame you lot lol

I should get it tomorrow, and it will go in my machine on Saturday. :cool:

I would hardly say it's the dark side. Most fan boy'ism is only based on previous bad experience, familiarity and excepting that alternatives can sometimes be beneficial.

5870 is a great card and overclocks like a demon, you will see a massive performance increase form you GTX, fun times ahead.

I hope to sell both my 5970s so I can buy a gtx 480, a new psu, and the metro 33 game, and get some nice benchies on unigine heaven 2

I have and the gtx 480 seems very good at multitasking
The heat is no problem as I will have an open case.
I will mildly oc the gtx 480 and attach an extension to the heatsink to enable me to put a small pan on it.
I can cook breakfast while I go on the internet in the morning.
