Well no surprise there, they are both well below 30 fps and then again with extreme tessellation and 8xAA/16AF, it's no surprise, this bench has no AA/AF, FPS is to low for ATI IMO.

Let me explain, obliviously fermi does tessellation better this is emphasized even more when you turn on max AA even though the FPS is like 25 on the 480, the cards are much close at realistic IQ settings like in the stone bench, but then again the performance shows otherwise, TWIMTBP bench??

Either way this thread is being derailed so let's keep it to benchmarks from now on.

stone bench is more heavy on tessellation than unigine 2. you can even see in uingine 2 that when you enable extreme tessellation the gtx 480 pulls ahead even more.

Just done the same runs at

1920x1080
16.9
High Tesselation
Dof Disabled
Run 1 40fps
Run 2 40fps
Run 3 41fps

Does anyone else think these are good results for a 5870 at those speeds with heavy tesselation. Still nowhere near the gtx 480 though.

Need a screenshot at the end with wireframe on and the scores/fps showing so we can see if tessellation is inuse or not IMO.

I think this bench is already very well optimized for Nvidia hardware/drivers, the fact the developers are advertising the fact
The demo also supports NVIDIA 3D Vision. If you have the necessary hardware we highly recommend that you view the demo in 3D. The 3D view really makes the hardware tessellation shine.
says they really like Nvidia, physx and all.

We will have to wait and see if ATI decide if it's worth optimizing for this bench or not.

This bench seems pretty CPU reliant. I'm running a 5870 at stock, and getting lower Average FPS than all of these 5850s, and the only difference I can see is that most the 5850's have i7 and I'm on Q6600. My Average FPS is 29 =(

Nah, a dude with a q6600 and 5770 had a slightly lower fps to me, although his was at stock and my card was OC'd

at least respect people's efforts you asked them to download the benchmark, run it and post their results only for you to QQ and probably not bother with this thread anymore because your precious 5870 is pretty much useless in dx11.

Are you talking about DX11 or Tessellation because your not clear on the matter as there is nothing wrong with the DX11 performance of the 5870 in respect to what the new NV 480/470 cards do in DX11 because that would mean that those cards are useless as well.

@ Duran, your trolling is to much for me, welcome to my ignore list.

ROFL You're joking right

Coming from the guy who's probably the most notorious troll on the graphics card forum. How many times have you been banned for winding people up?

Honestly I give up with this forum (again) some of you guys need serious help. :p
