I7 930 = Triple channel memory

I7 860 = Dual channel memory

Both would be very similar in gaming

If you where to go 1366 socket save some money and get a 920.

The key factor in looking at both is the 1156 mobo's are a fair bit cheaper then 1366 if you are not after all singing all dancing ones. Where as the cheapest 1366 mobo's are around £130.

Basicly as the 920 is a lot cheaper at the moment id say go that way.

Thanks for the reply.

The mobo for the 920/930 is Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R @ £157 and the mobo for the 860 is Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD4 @ £155. Not much between them.

I’ve noticed on CPU comparison charts that the 860 is above the 920, I was just wondering why.

I’ll probably go for the i7 930 and GA-X58A-UD3R mobo (if I can find a suitable powersupply).

Cheers.
