Approx 15mpg Urban in the Galaxy (2.3 Zetec Auto), although thankfully it only tends to only get wheeled out for family trips. Still struggles to do more than 22mpg on long trips though.

I can't see that being right to be honest, if a 2.5L Petrol Volvo Estate can do 35 on a long trip something is wrong there.

As for my golf, around 20-25.

Mines sitting at 31mpg with a 3 mile commute. It's 95% free flowing traffic at about 45mph ish on A roads plus upto 10 minutes sat at a level crossing (seems to average at a couple of minutes every trip). I used to have a 20 mile commute also in mainly free flowing traffic on out of town A roads though overtaking at nearly every oportunity and got 33mpg. All these in the Mondeo btw. In my 200sx I used to get low 20's on the 20 mile commute but didn't hang about.

It *is* a complete shed, and soon to be replaced with a diesel Alhambra or Estima. Only goes on the road twice a month, as me and the missus have 5 kids in total , seven seats is a must (they don't all live with us).

The original petrol Galaxy/Alhambra/Sharan is an economic meltdown on wheels. They are supposed to do 28mpg on long journeys but who does a steady 56mph on a motorway?

My Volvo S60 D5 allegedly pushes 70mpg for long journeys on the overly enthusiastic trip computer, although more realistically it is probably nudging 55mpg.

Once a week I travel all of 2 miles to work. Heavy stop-start traffic.

Mpg = horrendous but unsurprising, probably 13-15mpg for those 5 minutes.

Get aroun 19-20 mpg for a 10 mile round trip in my ST using unleaded, rises to 23mpg with super.

On a run (100+ miles) it will rise to high 20's low 30's if I don't overtake every BMW owner I can :p
