Read messages on Gmail showing up as read on 9700?

Why do messages that I read/delete on Gmail not do the same on my BB 9700 ? Any idea if this feature will be implemented?

Bit annoying to be honest, having so many unread messages on the 9700 vs. what is on Gmail

Its due to BIS not having 2 way sync as far as I'm aware, but people in the USA have reported in the last week or 2 that its started working so it maybe could be rolling out over here at some point soon. It is annoying though I agree.

Oh and if you dont already know, if you highlight the date and click, you can choose to "mark prior opened" which marks all messages on your phone as read.

Ah, will probably take a while till I get it here on Maxis (I'm on a pay as you go BIS here ) .. thought there might be a setting on the phone somewhere .
