Windows 7 crashes when playing video

On random occassions when I play video Windows 7 crashes and there is no other option than to hit the reset button.

I have googled around and there are quite a few people with tihis issue but can't really find a fix.

I am sunig CCC 10.4 also this was happening when I was using 10.3 as well,

Also I am using the ultimate 64 bit version

Any ideas?

Is it any video? even youtube? or a specific media player?

Have you overclocked your system?

Do you use sleep by any chance? I had the same issue on my last PC but it only happened after the PC was on after sleep, never from a cold boot/restart.

Could be the HW acceleration with the catalyst drivers. Try 10.5 maybe? worth a shot at least...

My sytem is not overclocked everything is running at stock speeds.

Youtube videos are fine it's only when I play with a media player I use Cowon Jet Audio, I don't know if it is an issue with this particular player.

I do use sleep a lot and yes it does happen after resuming from sleep a lot, do you think this is the issue.

Sorry for my mistake in my earlier post but I am already using the catalyst 10.5 drivers
