Apparently.... the garage it’s been at said that the oil pump hasn’t been functioning properly. And I've had the beast down VW/AUDI on the computer prior to the oil pump issues. And it had a air leak... that got fixed, and they reckon since the pressure within the engine has got back to what its ment to be its made the oil pump pull a load of junk through into the engine the geezer reckons it needs a top end rebuild... cam bearings etc all burnt out as far as I know the turbo is fine.. im getting the final verdict on it today. As he’s basically gonna strip it all down and see what is actually needed.. 500squids isn't a bad price for a engine.

Try ringing Vasstech in Northallerton. A recently opened VAG specialist. Very good mechanics. A mate of mine is one of the owners.

but to be fair, audi AVS servicing is terrible, worst thing ever for an engine. i spent ages trying to get an S4 that was a facelift car that wasnt on AVS

At an Audi garage it was about £4k for a full rebuild on a na 1.8 with a new head and block. I only found out about the cost after my parents had had it done. This was also from a failed oil pump. Full Audi SH btw and they made no contribution.

You what?

I could get my RS4 engine rebuilt with new cams and probably new turbos for that money!

They certainly got done over by Audi on that one!

I imagine they were walking a little funny for a few days after that

I cant see how that works, if the oil pump doesnt work it would lead to oil starvation, your turbocharger would be the first to blow.

Sounds more like a dodgy oil filter to me ?

Have it checked by someone reputable such as awesome gti
