In that case you could probably go a little cheaper on the GPU and get a 1TB HDD if you wanted it more music/films ect

Ok, cheaper on the GPU sound good. I currently have a 1TB NAS so storage is taken care of.

Looking at the spec Superewza has provided i would like to run with a modular PSU any suggestions?

Also i see the Watercooling was replaced for a fan cooler any reason why?

Thanks all

OCX ModXStream are generally the cheapest good modular PSUs. Not really necessary though, depends what case you're using?

Because it's just not a good place to spend money on a build with this budget. Especially with these CPUs, which are what, 95W TDP? The air cooler i specced is far cheaper and will keep temps nice and low, will probably be quieter too.

I currently have a Zalman 400w PSU, do you think it's worth sticking with that? i would need to sleeve the cables though.

And the case is a ASUS Vento A8 (Asus TA-861)

Thanks

You could probably stick with that PSU, you know what the exact model is?

Save on that and maybe get a £60 graphics card (GT 240?) then i suggest an upgrade to the CPU and/or a new case.

Hello all,

So it's that question again "spec me a new rig" and as i have asked it before i thought i would continue the thread i started before.

Can someone give me there view of the following:

Gigabyte GA-MA74GMT-S2
LG W2261VP 22" LCD
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition 3.2GHz Socket AM3
Sapphire HD 5670 512MB GDDR5
Western Digital WD5000AAKS 500GB SATAII
Tenda Wireless-N300 PCI Adapter
Startech 20 Pin ATX Power Supply To - 24 Pin Motherboard Cable
Plexus Gold Plated High Speed V1.4 HDMI to HDMI Cable Black 2m
OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333MHz Gold AMD Memory Kit CL9 1.65V
Microsoft Wired Desktop 600 Black

Now not everything will be coming from OcUK so I've not included any prices but feel free to re-spec from Ocuk if needed.

I hope to also re-use my Zalman 400W PSU, that's the reason for the Startech cable. i have a case and ASUS lightscribe drive also (speaking of which what's the Win7 lightscribe compatibility like?)

Budget is £550 max

Usage is just surfing the net & listening to music.

Thanks

James
