Hi,

I'm trying to help someone with a connectivity problem.

She has a wireless network and the connection keeps going down. BT advised her to obtain a cable to allow to do some sort of resetting at their end. However, it did start working again but is very tempermental. Sometimes it can be sorted by turning the router on and off.

Any ideas?
She has had the router for about 4 years.

Thanks folks. :)

change the wireless channel set it as far away from what it currently is as possible.

when it does work does it have a full signal?

the box's that beam TV round your house will mess up wireless..

you could **cough** lie and say your router blew up they will probably send you another FoC... or try another router if yyou have a spare...

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll let her know what to try when I see her tomorrow.

The router is a BT one. She hasn't yet obtained a cable. Unfortunately, networking is the area I am least proficient in so one or two of the questions I cannot now answer (I'm at home now). Thanks for the help, the idea about trying another router is a good one. Perhaps she can get one out of BT? :D
