Audio Technica products aren't cheap in the UK from any supplier. Finding them second hand is a nightmare too. Been trying to get a hold of a pair AD700/900 and some ATH-ES7's for at least 6 months (not interested in buying new).

Yep. They're nice headphones but massively overpriced here. Maybe look at an importer like Audiocubes.

One of the reasons they have such a good reputation is how affordable they are in the USA.

By the way - NS1000 are Goldring branded not made by Goldring. They're made by Phitek - the same company that makes the Audio Technica ANC7 and ANC7B. They are very similar to those AT noise cancelling headphones - or so I've been told by someone that works for a specialist headphone retailer.

The NS1000s sound and behave markedly different from the DR150s. I think they're a fair improvement and I believe others like C64 are with me on that one. Just make sure to get a headphone amp like the FiiO e5 if you want to use them in passive (non noise cancelling) mode. Several people actually prefer them with noise cancelling off but having it on adds treble and bass extension - although there is less bass overall in active mode.
