DVD ripping on Win XP

What software could I use to rip my collection of DVD's on my PC running XP. That can be played also on Win 7 Media Centre. Will I also have the viewing software to check that it is indeed copied OK.
I must add that for legal reasons both machines are mine but in different houses.

use imgburn to rip make the ISO file from DVD

work very well on my win7 media centre, dont know about XP

ImgBurn leaves the protection intact. It's best to use AnyDVD Ripper (not the image ripper), no need for mounting then either.
