Seeing all these cashback deals on goals etc, I think now is the best time to buy a TV.

A good plasma for TV viewing and the occasional DVD would be ideal. I have a love for panasonic panels so im thinking along that line.

Can anyone give me a quick pointer, its for my mam so im a little out of touch with current best buys.

Appreciate any pointer.

You can get my 47 inch 1080p LG for under £600 now iirc (model number is 47lh3000) and the picture quality is very good compared to other LCD's of this size in the same price range.

I have also seen no end of 46 inch plasmas with 2100hz screens for under £700.

If I were looking again, I would be looking at a Panasonic 1080p plasma.

I'd look at the Panny 50u10. Doesn't have the snazzy anti-glare filters that the more expensive Panny's use, but if you can keep direct sunlight away from it, should be a brilliant set. Available for just over £600.
