DDR2 memory in an Asus P5QL PRO..only room for one more stick...will it work?

Hi people.
I have recently fitted a Titan Fenrir cooler to my Asus P5QL Pro but this has blocked the 1st RAM slot.
I have 2X2GB Kingston HyperX in the black slots.
Could I slot a 2GB in the last slot, hence upgrading to 6GB?
Will there by any issues RE: Compatibility/not running in dual-channel mode etc?

the only issue would that you cant run it in dual channel mode

In theory yes but in reality it may run slower

I have the P5Q Pro and a Titan Fenrir with a 120mm noctua with 4x2gb of Kingston HyperX DDR2, and although it is close, they dont touch and could be even closer and still fit nicely.

I cant see your mobo being drastically different

Your right Ozzie, they do fit with a bit of fiddling!

One other thing, I am to get two more sticks this week to make 8GB like yourself.
I have a Q9550 E0 stepping. In terms of setting the RAM up correctly in the BIOS, does it need to stay at around 800MHZ as when I set it to what the snerts on ****** were saying ( 5-5-5-18 2.0v) the machine comes up with memory management BSOD'S and other related hassle.

Timings you should be able to set at 5-5-5-15 @ 2.2v @ 1066mhz (533mhz) without any problems.
