SLI on Asus P6X58D-E

does anyone know if i could use the 1st and 3rd PCI Express 16 slots to run SLI? I have large coolers on my GTX 260s so need a good seperation.

Would it run at 16x/16x or 16x/1x if i used these slots?

I believe the 3rd slot is electrically only x8 -so if you run SLI with this you will likely be in a x16x8 configuration. I sure the performance you will loose will not be too much, you could even test it out.

thanks cmndr_andi, i just downloaded the manual from asus site and it looks like it is only 8x in a tri-sli setup. in normal SLI it will be 1x
