hmmm interesting!

probably get all the hype up and just be the GTX460 lol

or the dual GPU Fermi which also has a hinge system that seperates the GPU's so you can make Panini's!.....that would be cool!

It will be an announcement about an announcement is my guess

Yup, don't forget the twitter thing where they announced a date, and the date turned out to be the announcement, of an event, that WASN'T the launch of the new cards........... incredibly lame. Though every time they do something stupid they try to claim it never happened and they didn't really mean it, but tend not to learn why it was stupid.

We'll see, most likely a 460gtx. Even if its a dual card, 2x336sp's, at lower clocks than a 480gtx going up against a 2x5870 with lower clocks in the 5970. Faster than a 480gtx, yup, 5970, not even close. Most likely they'll be using the more cut down versions of 460gtx's, one or two more shader clusters gone, and maybe even reduced clocks aswell.

Nvidia are releasing something big -

This means a graphical card so large that it has to be plugged in via extendable ribbon cables in to the PCIE slots of your motherboard and sit outside the case, requires a small nuclear reactor to power and the water cooling system can be plugged in to your homes radiators for warmth during the winter.

It'll be about 5 percent faster than the 480. (this is all a joke BTW guys, don't be serious!)

Or alternatively, it's what NathWraith is saying it is.

CHEAT - you just couldn't wait, impatient git. I said your 20th, not 20th overall!

So is that why so many people want nvidia to go under, as they are solely responsible for the so called global warming crisis (and not our natural, powerful sun) and the ocuk forum has been infiltrated by the manic climate change protestors to try and steer collective opinion in the graphics hardware industry - before it is too late!

so in theory the GTX460 can now be classified as a weapon of mass destruction, disguised as a mainstream performance graphics card for the consumer? that's a lot of power to have and we will all be responsible for GPH - grevious planetary harm. It is entrapment I say, an elite led world government and global-reaching corporation powered agenda, nvidia and the world's gamers will be the fallguys, and will enable the higher phases of the depopulation agenda to roll into action.

My guess is ATi is interested in the launch of the 460 cards, the 5770 and 5830 aren't exactly the strong points of the 5XXX lineup. The 5830 was hobbled by removing ROPs, the 5770 was hobbled by 128 bit memory.

As far as heat goes, if the 460 hits the rumored 150W TDP it will be using 25W less than a 5830.

On the subject of the rumored dual GPU card, plenty of room between current GTX480 pricing and HD5970 pricing for a card that performs between the two.

Of course, given the scaling the Fermi products are getting, a dual GF104 might be pretty close to a HD5970. Two HD470s outperform two 5870s often, and pretty much destroy a 5970.
